This is Andrea. I met her today while ordering my morning cup of goodness at Starbucks. After noticing she had a pin on her shirt that said, “NYC Dad 9/11”, I decided to come right out and ask her if she had lost her dad on 9/11 to which she replied, “Yes….and it’s amazing how many people have just ignored it”. I have never met anyone who has lost someone in the attacks, and 11 years later the impact of meeting Andrea had a profound effect on me. I think we often chose to ignore things/not speak up because we feel uncomfortable. I implore you all to get uncomfortable today and pay your respects to those who lost their lives and families. Even if all you can do is pray. I payed my respects to Andrea and left still wishing I had done more. So I went back, cut in line, and asked if I could take her picture and Instagram her so she won’t be ignored (at least not by me and my whopping 40 followers). Glad I met you today @lovey0922. This post is for your dad.
